Club sessions in times of the pandemic

Edinburgh Fencing Club strictly adheres to Scottish Government as well as SportScotland and Scottish Fencing Guidelines in running their sessions during the Covid-19 pandemic.

During the current nation-wide lockdown all indoor sports activities are suspended (January & February 2021), and with it EFC membership.

Once Edinburgh moves back into Level 3 of the Scottish Government Protection Level Framework, and Edinburgh Leisure resumes their community let for sports facilities, we will be able to restart fencing activities.
According to the latest Scottish Fencing and SportScotland guidelines (from November 2020) only children and young people under the age of 18 are allowed fencing indoors in Level 3. Edinburgh Fencing Club will therefore most likely only run one Open Session for U18 fencers on Tuesdays and one Cadet Class on Wednesdays, both with reduced number of fencers to allow sufficient social distancing. To adhere to Test & Protect guidelines EFC operates a booking system for all sessions.

All participants have to read and follow the club’s Covid Policy, the Risk Assessment and the Fencer Guidelines and book their session in advance. Information regarding the booking system will be provided to enroled and monthly paying members of the club as of lockdown in March 2020.
