We can only offer indoor fencing sessions for adults once Edinburgh reaches Covid-Level 0. Currently Edinburgh is in Level 2 and indoor contact sport is allowed for U18s only.
All sessions require pre-booking, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org for any questions.
Training Sessions within Covid Guidelines
We currently offer two sessions for U18 fencers in the weeks we are able to access the gym hall at St. Thomas’ of Aquin highschool (w/c 8th, 15th, 22nd, and 29th June):
- an Open Training Session on Tuesdays, 7.30pm to 9pm
Coaches will set-up pistes for bubbles divided per weapon, foil, épée or sabre, for exerienced fencers to enjoy a night of sparring.
While classic 1:1 coaching is not allowed for coaches over 18 until we reach the Covid Level 0, coaches are still allowed to coach from the side.
- a Cadet Foil and Sabre Fencing Class on Wednesdays, 6.15pm to 7.45pm
Coaches will run an adapted training session including warm-up, footwork, technical fencing training, and some time for sparring in training bubbles, devided in the weapons sabre and foil.
Booking is essential for all sessions.
We hope the restrictions are easing further towards a Level 0 over the coming months so we can finally see our much missed adult fencers back in the hall over the summer!
Training in Normal Times
In normal, non-pandemic times, the club is open for fencers on three evenings per week, offering
